Annual Meeting: May 2, 2019, 7:00 PM, Pine Lake Country Club

1. Call to Order: Chris Viegas

Introduction of Board Members, Description of 2018 summer successes and need for a late July/August weed cut in boat lanes;

2. Limnology Speakers, Dr. Doug Pullman and Aquest, aquatic weed expert and Dr. David Jude, of Freshwater Physicians, Inc.

3. Approval of Minutes: Co-Secretaries Gwen Schultz & Lucy Young

4. Treasurer’s Report: Heath Williams

a. Budget Report for 2018 Actual vs Budget

b. 2019 Budget Approval and Annual dues

5. Special Assessment District

Discussion on our need to create:

1.) an entire lake zone to allow uniform GPS specified treatment of aquatic weeds (outside DNR exempt zones; and

2.) 100% participation in payment for our Water Quality and Aquatic weed Treatment with Dr. Jude and Dr. Pullman.

6. Report on Lake and Board Activities 2018 - 2019 a. Goose Egg Removal by Goose Busters, LLC: L. Henney

b. Lake Water Quality Protection Program - 2018 - 2019: C. Viegas

Dr. Doug Pullman conducted aquatic weed mapping. Both he and Dr. Jude advise the board each summer on the weed treatment and Water Quality. The Board assesses the treatment each summer.

c. Aquatic Weed Control. Dr. Jude and Dr. Pullman’s recommendations will apply and weed treatment will be made by Savin Lake Services in June.

d. Communications: Janine Kateff

1. Three 2018 emails/annual newsletter;

2. plpoa.net and Facebook

3. PLPOA will attend your Association meetings

e. Water Safety: Stacy Sullivan / Bill Packer

1. Oakland County Sheriff Patrol 2018 Report; and

2. 2019 – Sheriff rate increase to $36.00, paid by PLPOA dues money.

7. Important Lake Dates for Pine Lake PLPOA Members:

April - Dr. Jude begins Water Quality testing on Pine Lake

April - Dr. Pullman begins aquatic weed assessment for Pine Lake

Mid- April, Canadian Goose egg control program - Goose Busters, Inc.

SAVIN Herbicide treatment, Mid-to-late May 2018 (when water temp is above 57)

Dr. Jude continues to conduct water sample extractions/testing in summer

August Dr. Pullman conducts second aquatic weed scan and assessment

PLCC Fireworks: July 2nd at dusk (rain date: July 3rd)

Birch Harbor Boat Parade, July 4 at 11:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome to decorate your boat and join in the parade.
